Floortime is a way of playing very interactively with your child. Among many others thing, play helps your child learn to connect with and relate to other people. It is best explained in the book...The Child with Special Needs by Greenspan (some libraries carry, Amazon has too) ..it is full of ideas for helping kids with communication or motor planning delays at the toddler to 5 year stage. The activities are simple, the main things you need are time and persistence. Floortime for people other than 5 years of age (developmental age approximate) is described the the book "The Secure Child" by Greenspan (some libraries carry, Amazon has too).
